Each season, fashion designers debut their new collections of highly-anticipated, exquisite wedding dresses during Bridal Fashion Week. While the gowns are definitely a focal point of these shows, the accessories that accompany them take each piece to the next level. At Spring 2024 Bridal Fashion Week, in particular, we saw a plethora of finishing touches that enhanced every garment and set the trends for future weddings.
This year, unexpected and statement-making accessories hit the runway; and in lieu of the traditional cathedral-length wedding veil, designers played with unique alternatives for bold and modern brides. For instance, Kelly Faetanini unveiled a bejeweled headband adorned with floral accents and pearls, which added a regal-inspired touch filled with grandeur to her line. Then, Dana Harel showcased an oversized hat in cream tones that radiated a chic and sophisticated look, one that perfectly complements sleek silk fabrics. These sought-after designers also introduced fun pieces of jewelry, such as striking flower-shaped earrings at Vivienne Westwood, and playful heels, like sparkly strappy sandals at Lee Petra Grebenau.

Unique Headbands
While bridal headbands have made an appearance in seasons past, this year, designers looked beyond the classic white style and presented eye-catching pieces dripping with intricate embellishments. For instance, Rami Al Ali and Kelly Faetanini featured ornate headpieces with sequins and beading that are reminiscent of a tiara for glamorous brides. Both pieces also incorporated a floral motif, which juxtaposed nature with splendor.

Oversized Hats
Oversized hats were another stylish wedding veil alternative that entered the Spring 2024 Bridal Fashion Week circuit. There were so many iterations, too. Monique Lhuillier presented a wide-brim woven variation, and Dana Harel introduced a cream-colored floppy hat. And while this trend isn't for every bride, it’s the perfect accessory choice for destination weddings or those looking for larger-than-life pieces.

Blusher Veils
It’s no surprise that wedding veils dominated the lookbooks this season, but one type that stood out was a blusher veil. While these face-framing accessories have a long-standing history at weddings, designers updated the traditional style with different trims. From MADELINE’s variant with clusters of 3D roses to Honor's lace edge, these supplemental pieces put a contemporary spin on a classic look, making it a show-stopping choice for any bride.

Floral Earrings
Earrings are usually a staple in a bride’s wardrobe, but this season, florals were the overwhelming choice. We noticed flower-shaped studs at Mira Zwillinger and dangling iterations complete with a stem and leaves at Vivienne Westwood. Whether it’s paired with a floral-appliquéd wedding dress or a silk off-the-shoulder gown, floral earrings are an ideal choice for brides hosting garden nuptials in the spring or summer.

Strappy Heels
A killer pair of heels will elevate any outfit, especially in the world of bridal fashion. So it's no surprise that designers imagined different versions of strappy sandals for Spring 2024. While black added a bold touch to Galia Lahav's line, sparkly straps stole the show at Lee Petra Grebenau. To let your shoes shine, we recommend wearing a mini or tea-length dress, or a gown with a slit, like the ones pictured below.
