Seminary Hill Catskills: New York

This orchard-driven cidery offers all the makings of a dreamy Catskills wedding. First, the backdrop: 1,500 pear and apple trees bloom with white and pink flowers in the spring, and the surrounding hills turn all sorts of brilliant shades of orange and yellow come fall. Next, the celebration: Whether you opt for the indoor tasting room (capacity of 100) or the outdoor tent (capacity of 250), dinner will include seasonal specialties such as roast duck, pimento cheese biscuits, and crispy sunchokes with aioli. (Yum!) Finally, the accommodations: While you and close family will spend your wedding night on the property at the five-bedroom Mountain House, Seminary Hill can also accommodate up to 50 additional guests in the just-over-the-hill town of Callicoon, where their Boarding House hotel features interiors by lauded local design studio Homestedt.

The Orchard Event Venue & Retreat: Texas

This 100-acre Dallas/Fort Worth orchard wedding venue is home to a towering collection of pecan trees, and you’ll exchange vows underneath their branches if you opt for an outdoor ceremony at The Pergola. Next, it's off to cocktail hour in The Plaza, a 2,000-square-foot covered patio which includes ceiling fans for hotter months and a two-sided fireplace for colder temperatures. Lastly, the reception hall: Complete with exposed wooden trusses and a glittering chandelier, the 7,000-square-foot space can host up to 400 guests. But here’s the best part: With a lodge that sleeps 12 (and boasts an in-ground pool and game room!) plus 15 free-standing cabins, your entire wedding party can stay on the property.

Quail Ranch: California

Situated an hour outside of Los Angeles in the city of Simi Valley, this working avocado and citrus ranch makes the most of SoCal’s sunny climate. Come wedding day, the bridal party will prep poolside in a spacious circa-1930s private suite, while ceremonies occur underneath a towering oak tree nestled in a citrus grove. Dinner for up to 200 guests, which takes place underneath bistro lights on an expansive lawn, is also an alfresco affair. Throughout the night, you’ll be immersed in the scent of orange blossoms and jasmine. Sounds pretty magical, right?

The Orchard Hood River: Oregon

Oregon’s Hood River Valley overflows with apple, pear, and dozens of other fruit orchards. At family-owned farm The Orchard Hood River, you’ll marry on a lush garden lawn surrounded by pear trees (and with a stunning backdrop of Mount Hood), then head to the indoor-outdoor reception barn for a farm-to-table dinner for up to 175 guests. (Locally-built wooden tables and cross-back chairs are included in the venue costs, so the setting will definitely match the meal.) Added bonus: The nearby towns of Hood River and White Salmon are some of the best small towns in the Pacific Northwest, so your guests can definitely make an extended weekend out of your nuptials. Consider a hotel block at nearby Society Hotel Bingen, where the on-property amenities include a saltwater soaking pool and massage services.

Tin Roof Barn: Washington

Dreaming of a rustic wedding? You’ll adore the 100-plus-year-old barn that is the focal point of this dreamy Columbia River Gorge event space. While the Tin Roof Barn property itself does not contain fruit-bearing trees, it is located next to one of the many orchards in the Mount Adams Orchard Co. empire, so the trees are very much part of the landscape. (The area is also known for the Hood River Fruit Loop, which features plenty of U-pick places your guests can explore during downtime.) Exchange vows underneath the wisteria-covered arbor on the ceremony patio, which overlooks the verdant landscape, then dine and dance with up to 160 of your nearest and dearest in the stunning timber-frame barn.

La Arboleda: California

The lush beauty of Santa Barbara is evident the first moment you set foot on family-owned La Arboleda, which is home to dozens of English walnut trees and over two hundred olive trees. The venue is a beautiful labyrinth of gardens, water fixtures, meandering paths, and several trellised areas, all of which can be enclosed in case of rain. Dinner for groups of up to 400 happens in the dining pavilion, which boasts a glass wall and rustic chandeliers. When your attendees need a break from dancing, fire pits and bocce courts will keep them warm (and entertained) throughout the evening.

The Cherry Barn at Nugent Orchards: Michigan

First established in 1918, this family farm sits just under an hour west of Traverse City and features 40 acres of apple and cherry trees. Open mid-May to mid-October, the fruit-forward venue boasts a different aesthetic depending on the season (white blossoms in the spring, bold red bursts of cherries in the summer, and the cozy apple smells in the fall), but no matter when you marry, you’ll be the only wedding on the property. (Buyouts begin on Friday at noon and end Sunday at 2 p.m.) Host your ceremony under a simple wood pergola set amid the apple trees, entertain guests with corn hole and golf tees during cocktail hour, then head to the main event space—a clear roof barn bedecked with string lighting—for dinner and dancing.

Jacob’s Farm: Michigan

Also in the Traverse City area, the 40-acre Jacob’s Farm grows a variety of fruit in their U-pick orchards, including strawberries, cherries, peaches, and apples. Their newest event space, the Orchard View Barn, is a modernized black-and-white barn structure that can seat up to 175 guests and pairs wonderfully with an orchard view at the ceremony site, but you could also opt for exchanging vows in the Cathedral of Trees, where chandeliers are strung from towering branches, followed by dinner and dancing in the circa-1892 Centennial Barn (capacity of 125). Either way, chef Eric Daily will craft an unforgettable meal for the affair with unique options including Texas BBQ, paella, and street taco bars.

The Meadow Barn: South Dakota

Located 20 minutes south of Sioux Falls, The Meadow Barn makes it easy to host the orchard wedding of your dreams thanks to helpful inclusions such as built-in sound systems and commercial prep kitchens, as well as 55 acres containing over 6,000 apple trees. (Keep your eyes peeled for mini donkeys, sheep, and chickens as well!) Choose from two reception spaces: The larger timber-frame Meadow Barn (capacity of 400), which boasts soaring 34-foot ceilings, a Douglas Fir roof trellis, a covered patio, and a fire pit; or the smaller white-washed Veranda (capacity of 250), an open-air barn structure complete with onsite ceremony patio, a lofted bridal suite with a Juliet balcony, and a charming waterfall garden.

Smith Barn at Brooksby Farm: Massachusetts

American history aficionados will no doubt appreciate that this classic red barn venue, which is surrounded by 250 acres of apple orchards and conservation land, is affiliated with the Peabody Historical Society and Museum. Exchange vows outdoors in Woodland Gardens, where the natural beauty changes with the seasons, then head to the barn’s Main Room (capacity of 240), a beautifully restored two-level space that, despite its historic roots, comes equipped with all the essential modern amenities (like air conditioning and heat!).

The Baumberhof: Oklahoma

The possibilities for stunning romantic photos are virtually limitless at The Baumberhof (capacity of 300), which is situated just north of Oklahoma City on 450 acres scattered with lakes, forests, wheat fields, an enclosed orchard growing apples, peaches, plums, and cherries, and even an aviary. The crown jewel of the property just may be the replica of a 400-year-old Bavarian stone barn, but you can also opt for a ceremony in The Forest, a shaded wooded glen, or in the glass-ceiling Conservatory, a fairy tale-worthy space that can also host receptions where ivy hangs from the walls.

La Venture Grove: Florida

For a more tropical twist on the orchard wedding, head to La Venture Grove thirty minutes south of Jacksonville. Anchored by a historical home first built in 1880, the six-acre riverside property is dotted with half-century-old oak trees draped in Spanish moss as well as citrus trees. While you’ll get ready inside the house in the spacious suites, dinner and dancing for larger groups happen in decidedly more updated digs: The new 2,000-square-foot pole barn pavilion (capacity of 175). Farm-style dining tables, ceremony benches, and antique tables for the cake and guest book are included in every package.

The Fields: Michigan

Opened in 2019, this 30-acre blueberry farm is widely considered one of the best glamping destinations in the Midwest. A full buyout (required for weddings) scores you access to ten luxe canvas tents, each of which is set up on a wooden platform, hosts a king-size bed, and comes complete with an ensuite bathroom. Once you have the run of the place, how you set up your event is largely up to you! (There’s no official venue capacity, though the largest event they’ve hosted included 350 guests.) Most couples opt for an outdoor ceremony and a tented reception in the blueberry fields, though smaller dinners can certainly happen al fresco. Be sure to take advantage of the concierge services, which can help you arrange fun pre-wedding activities such as yoga and bike rentals.
