New year, new beauty trends! This past year welcomed earth-toned smokey eyes, beautifully blushed cheeks, and effortless lashes. This year? It’s all about natural looking bridal beauty, according to bridal makeup experts Mali Thomas and Sami Heuer. We asked them to share what they believe will be the biggest beauty trend of 2023, and they both predicted that sheer, luminous complexions—or “skin-like” glam—will be the it-look of countless weddings to come.
Thomas says that glowing skin is a beauty trend that stands the test of time. "I predict this season is all about sheer buttery textures and luminous complexions,” says Thomas. “We want to see real skin instead of just the product that's applied. In order to achieve this no makeup-makeup finish, your skincare routine needs to take precedence.”
Heuer agrees, stating that "skin-like" glam will be everywhere this season. “Cream and liquid products are extremely trendy right now," she says. These products give the perfect amount of color to enhance, but not overwhelm, she adds.
If you’re not sure where to start, Thomas recommends using a cream blush for a natural-looking flush. “Cream blush is versatile and has the ability to make the skin look fresh and healthy," she says. "Shades as vibrant as pastel pink and as bold as chocolate cherry will be applied on all different skin tones this year."
