Chrissy Teigen Skipped Bridal White Fashion During Her and John Legend's Vow Renewal—See All of Her Unique Looks from the Weekend

When Chrissy Teigen tied the knot with John Legend on September 14, 2013, she channeled the quintessential bride in white: The model sported three Vera Wang wedding dresses for the festivities. However, when the model and the “All of Me” singer returned to their wedding venue at Villa Pizzo in Lake Como on September 16, 2023, to renew their vows in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary, Teigen decided to forgo tradition in favor of a series of moody and colorful looks.  

The couple kicked off the vow renewal festivities with a rehearsal dinner, where Teigen donned a silver and blue structured mini dress featuring intricate embroidery by Georges Hobeika. She paired her attire with blue lace-up heels. The model showed off her outfit from various angles on Instagram. The photos show Teigen striking a pose by a window that was overlooking the idyllic lake, beside a red-carpeted staircase, and in another room of what appears to be the villa. “We come to this place for magic!!!” she exclaimed in her caption, referencing Nicole Kidman’s commercial for AMC Theaters. She then added a follow-up comment below her caption that said, “John did not get my amc theater caption so I want to change it because now I sound weird.”

When Teigen arrived with her husband and their four children—Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren—by boat, per Vogue, she stepped out in another unexpected outfit: a black lace floor-length gown from Zuhair Murad's Fall 2023 collection. The getup features long sleeves, a structured corset bodice, a mock neck, and an A-line skirt, which were all covered in lace embroidery and semi-sheer fabric. The designer’s latest line of wedding dresses is a departure from the typical white hue and instead features an array of dark colors, such as black, red, purple, and violet or white with black trim. Although the Lebanese fashion designer’s work isn’t available to buy online, you can visit a local bridal salon or boutique to shop his designs.

For the actual vow renewal ceremony, Teigen changed into another Zuhair Murad original from the Fall 2023 collection—also in black. Teigen wore a black figure-hugging satin gown with a black cape covered in 3D roses, an off-the-shoulder neckline trimmed in lace, and more floral appliqués on the sleeves. The only hint of white was a pop on the lining of the cape and the top of her bodice. According to photos that the outlet published, she accessorized with a black headband. By her side, Legend sported a white tuxedo jacket with black lapels. 

To conclude the festivities, the couple threw a poolside after-party, per the outlet. Again, Teigen chose a color-focused look for the celebration. Instead of dark, moody hues, like the previous day, she opted for something light and bright: an empire waist gown with a cheery yellow skirt and a neon green V-neck bodice (scroll through the below Instagram post to get a closer look—and to see a bit of the lace Zuhair Murad gown she wore earlier in the weekend). Legend also dressed himself in a colorful getup, which was a matching floral set. 

After the vow renewal weekend came to a close, Teigen expressed her gratitude on Instagram on September 20, 2023. “I have so many things to share from this insanely perfect and emotional weekend but I still have not been able to put all my thoughts together,” she admitted in her caption. “All i can muster up right now is that I am so grateful for our friends, our family and our lives. 💗” In addition to her heartfelt message, Teigen uploaded a carousel of images of her children from the event.
