Los Angeles has a seemingly endless supply of wedding venues, which is enough to overwhelm a couple that doesn’t relish the thought of spending an entire year touring sites (so, all couples). But for those who know a beach wedding isn’t in the cards and are looking for something a bit more urban or architectural—though still with epic views—Downtown L.A. is a place well worth checking out. And with the number of design-forward hotels and chic outdoor spaces cropping up, there are some seriously photogenic options for your big day.

Here, a handful of the coolest Downtown Los Angeles wedding venues to say “I do.”

The NoMad Hotel Los Angeles

The beyond dreamy NoMad—L.A.’s first outpost of the beloved New York City hotspot—has to-die-for decor both inside and on its rooftop, which is one option for couples seeking something unique for their big day. The whole place is Italian-inspired, and the rooftop pool reflects that with massive sculptures and a Mediterranean flair, so while you’re in the middle of a massive city, you very well might feel transported. Beyond the pool, there’s a covered bar and patio and a dedicated kitchen allowing for cocktail receptions and seated dinners. The other possibility is the super-sexy velvet-clad Mezzanine, which has a more lounge-y feel and is the perfect place for a dose of drama and drool-worthy design.

Hotel Figueroa

After undergoing a total multi-year restoration and redesign, this iconic historical landmark is back in business. Built in the 1920s, the hotel was designed in the Spanish colonial style. Acclaimed chef Casey Lane and mixology mastermind Dushan Zaric have curated two restaurants and three bar concepts at the property, meaning you can rest assured everything you and your guests taste will blow you away. For super-intimate gatherings before the main event, there is a mirrored private dining space behind a “disappearing” bookcase in one signature suite, and a range of options for the wedding blowout itself, with plenty of art in between to set the mood. The graffiti mural on the outside of the building provides a great backdrop for newlywed photos, too.

ROW DTLA

In-the-know types and foodies might already know Row DTLA as the home of Smorgasburg LA, a Sunday food market where vendors from around the world hawk mouthwatering fare. The revamped industrial warehouse complex is also fast becoming a fantastic destination for shopping hard-to-find local and international labels, and eating (coffee lovers shouldn’t miss Paramount Coffee Project and Dulce Dos). But perhaps the coolest part is the under-the-radar rooftop where weddings can be booked for up to 400 guests. The skyline vistas are breathtaking, and it’s a beautiful bistro-lit setting for an afternoon into sunset and evening affair. Just a note that the sound ordinance kicks in at 11 p.m.

Hotel Kim Sing

It’s technically on the verge of Downtown, in historic Chinatown, but the micro-boutique hotel in the relaunched Kim Sing Theatre is one of the city's best-kept secrets. It’s a 1920s vaudeville theater converted to an unbelievably unique event space, complete with a sunken living room with velvet and exposed brick, stunning original bow-truss ceilings, and a long sloping outdoor courtyard lit magically from above that could pull double duty as a ceremony venue and transition into dinner or dancing. The views of the skyline are beautiful, flanked with tropical trees, making it an oasis in the city. And since the self-contained space sleeps 10 across two stories and three bedrooms complete with en suite bathrooms (stocked with fluffy towels and Lather products), it’s the perfect accessible place to prep for the day.

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown

How’d you like to make things official atop the tallest building west of Chicago? The InterContinental contains 73 floors and an open-air sky deck that can accommodate larger wedding parties. There you can see all the way from the Pacific to the Hollywood sign. Other spaces are available for your big day, too, like the 20,000-plus square foot Wilshire Grand Ballroom, fitting a variety of sizes. Additionally, there’s a private bridal suite and dedicated wedding coordinator who will ensure the five-star international catering options match your taste perfectly.

In DTLA’s historic core, this new hotel with industrial-meets-glam interiors is ideal for a wedding that hits on luxury and contemporary styling. Its 22,343-square-foot event space can be transformed for virtually any occasion, and there’s also a top-floor lounge, 18 Social, that fits parties of up to 200. It has full entertainment capabilities, 14-foot glass bifold doors that open out to the roof deck with incomparable views and a spacious pool deck.
