Priscilla Valles might be a celebrity hair extensionist who lengthens the locks of clients like the Kardashians, Hailey Bieber, Kate Hudson, and Megan Fox. But, it was a love of cars, not hair, that lead the beauty expert to her future husband, entrepreneur Miguel Aguilar. "Priscilla grew up in a family of car lovers," share the newlyweds with Brides. "Her dad built low riders and collected classic cars. Miguel, being a classic car collector himself, met her father, Richie, at a car show in Vegas. Richie introduced Priscilla and Miguel in March 2021 and the rest is history."
The couple fell head over heels for each other, and knew it was meant to be by the time the year was through. In December 2021, Priscilla made it permanent by tattooing her signature on Miguel at the Hotel Bel Air. "After the tattoo was done, he proposed in the romantic sweet way with a ton of white roses and candles," shares Priscilla.
When the couple needed to settle on a venue, they decided it would be special to return to the place where they decided to spend the rest of their lives together. So, they chose the Bel Air Hotel's ballroom for a grand reception following a ceremony at The Good Shepherd of Beverly Hills. Their vision for the day was "old Hollywood glamour with a chic twist and some Latin flare to it."
So, on September 17, 2022, Priscilla and Miguel held an elegant Beverly Hills affair for 160 family and friends. Read ahead for all the details, photographed by Jacob Huizar of Rich Kid Media.
The beauty expert decided to have a soft, romantic look for her wedding day. She started her prep weeks ahead with facials from Joanna Vargas, as well as a vampire facial, botox, laser, and injections from Dr. Jason Diamond. Priscilla adds, "I am a 41-year-old bride so the maintenance has been a full-time job!"
For her hair, Priscilla wanted a "classic blowout with a heavy side part behind the ear on one side to give more volume and a more dramatic blowout." She explains, "It's a romantic sexy look that I love to go for." Of course, she added a bit of length herself. "My hair extensions Glam Seamless luxe clip-ins are key to my bridal look and are very important to me because I poured my heart and soul into creating this dream extension line," Priscilla shares.
A favorite moment of her wedding prep? "The night before which I spent with my stepdaughters Riley and Jaden, and my maid of honor," shares Priscilla. Fun fact: pop star Christina Aguilera served as MOH for the day. "We had a real girl cozy night with facials, robes, and all things self care while watching Father of the Bride. This was a very special and bonding moment for me."
For her maid of honor's custom dress, Christina "went with something a little more edgy than the traditional maid of honor attire," explains the bride. "We did a black silk, fitted, high-slit, very sexy, and edgy look."
For her wedding day, Priscilla donned a stunning satin silk strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier. "I originally thought I would end up with a lace dress but the second I put this on—with its traditional, classy elegant and simple chic cut—I fell in love with it instantly," reflects the bride.
However, making her way in to see the designer's selection during peak wedding season wasn't the easiest process. The couple booked their venue just three months ahead of the day, so they definitely were on a short time frame. After a cancellation gave Priscilla an opportunity to see the gowns at the salon, there were only seven available in stock. "The last one I tried on was it for me," says the bride.
To top off her look, Priscilla wore a stunning tennis necklace and statement earrings by Happy Jewelers and Jimmy Choo shoes. She also spritz on her favorite scent, Baccarat Rouge 540, and wore Opi Bubble Bath on her nails. "I am allergic to color when it comes to my nails so I always do a baby pink," she adds.
Two accessories were especially meaningful for the bride. As her something old, "my dad gave me my grandmother's purse to use for the day. She recently passed away and we were extremely close so this truly touched me," explains Priscilla. "One of my girlfriends, whose mother just passed away this summer, gave me her mom’s ring—a sapphire diamond ring—as my something borrowed.”
The groom looked dapper for the day in head-to-toe Giorgio Armani. He accessorized his tux with Happy Jewelers cufflinks and a gold Rolex limited edition 41ml. Miguel also got Joanna Vargas facials before the big day, and finished his wedding day prep with a spritz of Chanel Blue Classic.
The front entrance of The Good Shepherd of Beverly Hills, Priscilla's neighborhood Catholic church, was adorned with an arch of white florals so all guests and members of the wedding party could make a grand entrance.
Seeing Miguel at the end of the aisle and seeing all my loved ones under one roof supporting us was beyond special and surreal for me.
The couple opted out of doing a first look and first saw each other as the bride entered the church. Priscilla adds, "Seeing Miguel at the end of the aisle and seeing all my loved ones under one roof supporting us was beyond special and surreal for me." The couple kept then things traditional at their ceremony. The bride entered on her father's arm to "Canon in D" before a priest performed a Catholic mass.
However, after Priscilla and Miguel said "I do," the newlyweds recessed as Latin music filled the hall from a mariachi band.
It’s something we’ve done together. It’s made it really romantic and intimate.
"To get the groom involved in every detail has been such a special bonding moment for us," reflects Priscilla. "It’s something we’ve done together. It’s made it really romantic and intimate."
As the party moved to the Hotel Bel Air, guest were welcomed with a chic seating chart with names written on three large mirrors.
"We pulled inspiration from the old Hollywood glam setting of Hotel Bel Air, as well as our Latin roots by incorporating Latin music throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception," explains the bride. Cocktail hour featured appetizers included a seafood tower, shrimp tostadas, fried chicken sliders, and Wolfgang Puck's signature smoked salmon pizza with caviar.
Inside, blooms in elevated centerpieces floated above tablescapes with touches of black, off-white, and gold.
After their grand entrance, the couple took a turn about the floor for their first dance to Allen Stone's "Is This Love." The bride also danced with her father to the song "Sabor Mi."
Guests took a seat for a four-course meal from Wolfgang Puck. The dinner featured tuna tartare, tortilla soup, an entrée choice of iron-roasted Sonoma duck breast or mesquite-grilled sirloin steak, and a seasonal fruit crumble for dessert. The couple also hired a flamenco dancer to entertain guests during the dinner.
A five-tiered white wedding cake accented with delicate sugar flowers brought a dramatic romantic touch to the reception. With red velvet cake and carrot cake inside, it was a tasty treat for the bride and groom as they cut into the confection.
The newlyweds topped off their reception with a celebratory Champagne tower as a final toast for the evening. Next up for the couple? Priscilla and Miguel just got the keys to their new house, "so we will be nesting for our honeymoon."
