Hailey Bieber Just Committed the Biggest Wedding Faux Pas

Ask anyone who's ever been to a wedding and they'll tell you that there's one major faux pas guests absolutely don't want to commit: wearing white. Unfortunately, Hailey Bieber did just that at a friend's recent nuptials. On June 25, 2023, the model and founder of skincare brand Rhode showed up to the wedding of Stephanie Shepherd, Kim Kardashian’s former assistant, and Larry Jackson, in white. The day after the nuptials, Hailey posted a recap of her wedding guest look on Instagram. Based on the images, Hailey seems to have worn a long-sleeved figure-hugging dress with a high neckline, side cut-outs, and an open back in white. She paired the ensemble with diamond earrings and a furry blue handbag. She also donned blue eyeshadow and a glowy, natural makeup look. “🦋🦋🐬🎀🎀🎀,” she captioned the carousel. 

Since the color white is traditionally reserved for the bride, many of Hailey fans and followers were quick to call her out in the comments section of her Instagram post. “You really just wore white to a wedding??” one user wrote. Another person was similarly shocked: “Wait but she wore this to a wedding…white…to another persons wedding. I mean….” On the other hand, other fans confirmed their loyalty to Hailey despite her faux pas. “Respect button for Hailey Bieber 👉,” one Instagram account owner typed. 

Based on the photos obtained by Daily Mail, Hailey’s husband, Justin Bieber, also attended the wedding. The “Changes” singer opted for a more casual look: a white button-up shirt (which he left untucked), black dress pants, and black leather loafers.  

Kim Kardashian was another wedding guest whose look demanded attention at the celebration. The reality star donned a strappy black Alaïa dress with large cut-outs across the garment, exposing her midriff and legs. According to Daily Mail, Shepherd left her position as chief operating officer of Kardashian’s KKW Beauty company, which sparked rumors that the two had a falling out. Kardashian later clarified that Shepherd “just wanted to go in a different direction.” The outlet reports that Shepherd co-founded nonprofit Future Earth, served as chief innovation officer for Plus Body Care, and pursued acting and modeling gigs. 

Like her daughter, Kris Jenner also donned a black ensemble. The CEO of Jenner Communications showed up in a black long-sleeved dress with a low neckline. She accessorized with a black clutch, black gloves, black booties, and a black shawl.

The news that Hailey wore white to a wedding comes just one month after Olivia Wilde donned a “wedding dress” to a friend’s wedding. The Don’t Worry Darling star wore a silk slip dress with a low back by Nili Lotan for the occasion, and she later joked about her outfit choice on Instagram. “Wore a wedding dress to a wedding just so I could make a joke about it in my toast,” she quipped. The photo shows that Wilde paired her ensemble with black sunglasses and a white parasol, and she wore her hair down in waves.
