Why You’ll Love Las Vegas

They don't call it Sin City for nothing. Las Vegas is an adult playground that caters to a wide variety of tastes, from guilty pleasures to more wholesome activities. If you're looking to party, you'll find no shortage of daytime or nighttime options. Gambling? Check. International cuisine and elite shopping? You got it. Pools and spas? There's no shortage of those here. Even outdoor activities and natural wonders of the world are only a short hop away.

  • Pools: While there are no natural beaches, Las Vegas offers a plethora of hotel pools tailored to a variety of styles, themes, and noise levels from tranquil and meditative to a full-on club environment.
  • Nightlife: The nightlife scene is robust, to say the least, with a multitude of options from entertainment profiles like concerts, theater, and shows to clubbing events.
  • Food: Las Vegas boasts a vibrant epicurean offering of widely recognized chefs at the helm of many of its hotel restaurants.

Where to Stay

While its footprint might be small, this city has no shortage of accommodations to choose from. If you're a big group that wants to chill poolside, one of the resorts boasting larger-than-life pools is probably your best option. Moss-Graham suggests Resort’s World, Wynn Las Vegas, and the luxurious Cosmopolitan. Vegas hotels are known for having their own personality and vibe, so do some perusing and see which matches the energy you're going for.

  • The Strip: Booking directly on the strip is the most popular choice. This ensures you'll never be more than just down the street from the city's most recognized attractions. If you're coming for the glitz and the glamour, this is where it's at.
  • Downtown: This is a good option for budget-friendly accommodations and a more relaxed vibe. Keep in mind that you'll absolutely need transportation to get to the central locations, and this can become quite costly (and timely).

Where to Eat

Rest assured, Sin City has come a long way since the days of all-you-can-eat buffets and strip club steaks (although you can still find those, too). With a huge international influence and no shortage of home-grown Midwestern favorites, you can find just about anything your heart—or stomach—desires in Vegas.

Reservations are a must, especially if you're a large group. The sooner you book, the better.

What to Do

Best Nighttime Activities in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is known for its nightlife array of clubs and casinos. Of course, the most popular clubs in Las Vegas are the larger clubs that host the top DJs and musical performances. If that’s what you’re looking for, head to Omnia Nightclub, Marquee, Drai’s Nightclub, or Jewel Nightclub. If a little risk and reward is more to your liking, check out the casinos in any of the major hotels along the strip. Looking for an after-dinner show instead? You can't go wrong with any of the Cirque du Soleil performances, though Magic Mike Live is also incredibly on-theme and something to consider.

Best Daytime Activities in Las Vegas

Sin City doesn't stop when the sun rises. The clubs transition from dim-yet-vibrant spaces to energetic pool parties at Encore Beach Club and Liquid Pool Lounge. And those late-night casinos? They're open 24/7. If you’ve had enough of gambling and partying and want to be adventurous, take a day trip from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon with a five-hour drive from the city (custom playlist recommended). Or, you and your crew can get there faster on luxurious helicopter tours. Other spots include the Neon Boneyard, a trip to Red Rock Canyon, or a day exploring Death Valley.

How to Get Around

Check with your hotel to see if they offer complimentary Las Vegas strip shuttles. Other ways available in the city include the monorail or Uber.
