Queen Camilla Just Revamped the Outfit She Wore to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding

Her Anna Valentine ensemble was the perfect outfit to wear to the horse races at Royal Ascot.

Queen Camilla has a closet filled with elegant pieces, but she decided to rewear a very special outfit for the Royal Ascot. On June 21, 2023, during the second day of the horse races, Camilla arrived in the pale pink Anna Valentine coat dress that she wore to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding in May of 2018. She even kept the exact same three-strand pearl necklace with a pink centerpiece stone that she used to embellish her wedding guest attire in 2018.

However, she did make a few changes to the outfit ahead of the Royal Ascot. For Harry and Meghan’s wedding five years ago, Camilla accessorized with classic pearl earrings. At the horse races this year, she swapped the timeless jewel for dangling earrings with a pink center stone that matched the pink diamond-encrusted stone on her necklace. She also replaced her headpiece. While Camilla sported a pink feathered hat for the royal wedding, she opted for a beige top hat by Philip Treacy for the Royal Ascot.

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in May 2018, Camilla’s pastel-colored getup was the perfect choice for the spring function. Many other royal wedding guests also chose pastel hues for the occasion, including Doria Ragland, the mother of the bride, in mint green and Kate Middleton in light yellow. Even some of the couple’s celebrity friends showed up in vibrant shades that suited the season. Amal Clooney stepped out in a bright yellow Stella McCartney tea-length dress, while Oprah Winfrey also tapped Stella McCartney to create her light pink gown. Priyanka Chopra chose a striking lavender hue for her custom suit by Vivienne Westwood.

While escorting the bride down the aisle, King Charles wore a gray morning suit by Anderson & Sheppard, which had been in his closet since 1984, per People. While speaking to British Vogue, Charles said he considered buying a new suit for such a special occasion, but since the one he wore still fit him, he decided to get one more use out of it. “But in the case of that particular morning coat, as long as I can go on getting into it—I only wear it a few times a year in the summer—so obviously you want to keep those sorts of things going,” he says. "But if I can’t fit into them, then I just have to have something new made, but I’m not sure quite how radically different they can be at my age."

This isn’t the first time Camilla has breathed new life into her wedding guest attire. During a visit to Germany in March 2023, the queen brought back the brooch that she wore to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding in 2011. In Germany, she pinned the diamond and yellow gold accessory from Van Clef & Arpels to a chocolate brown coat. For the royal wedding over a decade prior, she sported the same accessory and a smaller second brooch in white gold on a light blue and pink coat, which she wore over a cream ensemble with gold embroidery. She completed her look with white gloves, pearl earrings, a beige clutch, and an overused hat.
