Simone Biles Reveals the Details Behind Her Dreamy "Cloud 9"-Themed Bridal Shower

From her wedding dress shopping journey to her bachelorette party in Belize, Simone Biles has taken her fans along for the ride while the bride-to-be gets ready to say “I do” to Jonathan Owens. On April 4, 2023, the professional gymnast gave her followers an inside look at another pre-wedding event: her bridal shower. “On Cloud 9 BRIDAL SHOWER☁️💙🕊️,” she writes. “Feeling so loved & blessed.”

The Olympic gold medallist is sharing the details behind the celebration by uploading a carousel of photos captured by Rachel Taylor Photography. Based on the images, the future wife’s vision appears to recreate a cloud, which was accomplished with an all-white color palette and balloon installations. One section of the event seems to have taken place in a tent, where high-top tables engulfed in white tablecloths were arranged. Balloon installations suspended from the ceiling like clouds, while more balloons formed a wall. A neon sign with the words, “On Cloud 9 Simon Owens,” stood in the center of the formation.

For drinks, guests could grab the specialty cocktail of the day from a mobile cocktail bar decorated with more airy balloons and another neon sign that said “Cocktail Bar.” According to the photos, friends and family had another option for beverages as well. A mobile champagne cart displayed coupes of bubbly topped with clouds of cotton candy. To accompany the selection of booze, Biles served an abundance of snacks. The food spread was stationed beneath hanging rattan lanterns and adorned with balloons and a neon sign that featured “Engaged” and a ring symbol. To top off the feast, the bride-to-be chose an all-white cake with a bottom tier that resembled a cloud to create a floating illusion.  

The fashion was another moment that helped bring the upcoming bride’s vision to life. Biles wore a white high-neck gown featuring pearl embellishments. She paired her look with white heels and wore her hair in loose waves. Her guests sported blue attire, which seemed to be reminiscent of the sky. In a follow-up post, Biles shared a group photo of her loved ones who attended. “The best girls, my day 1’s 💙,” she expresses. “Can’t wait to get married with y’all by my side!!!” Her sister, Adria Biles, was present for the festivities, in addition to several of her close friends.

Almost a month before her bridal shower, Biles celebrated her bachelorette party in Belize. On February 28, 2023, the professional athlete uploaded a video montage that wrapped up her trip. According to the clip, Biles and her crew spent the vacation admiring the ocean views, hanging out by the hotel’s pool, and hitting up happy hours and group dinners together. “Thanks @alaiabelize for hosting the most epic bachelorette 🤍,” she captioned the video. “We had a TIME!!!!!!! It was truly unbelizeable.”
